End of Warranty and claim negotiation support for an IPP in Chile
2023-2025
We supported the owner of a wind farm during a complex End of Warranty (EoW) process, providing integrated technical and contractual advisory services to protect asset value and maximize recovery from the OEM.
Our approach was structured in line with IEC 61400-28 guidelines, providing a robust and defensible framework for End of Warranty inspections, non-conformity assessment and claim development.
The scope covered the full EoW process, including the review of TSA and SMA contracts, detailed analysis of turbine operational data and service orders, and the definition of inspection programs and checklists. We performed and coordinated extensive WTG inspections including drivetrain borescope inspections and oil&grease analyses to identify latent defects, operational non-compliances and unresolved technical issues.
All inspection findings and data analyses were consolidated in a structured digital platform, enabling a systematic assessment of non-conformities and the development of a robust and defensible EoW claim strategy. We led the drafting of all EoW claims, including the supporting technical documentation, and worked closely with the client’s legal and operational teams throughout the process.
We also supported negotiations and settlement discussions with the OEM, resulting in additional large corrective interventions, spare parts supply and deployment of technical solutions, ensuring a controlled and value-protective transition beyond the warranty period.
